Phil
Pavey has been a resident on the Lake of Bays for over 25 years. As an
ISA Certified Arborist and Forest Technician, his intuitive thinking and
skilled aptitude was generated early by working with a national tree
service company, to employment with the Ontario Ministry of Natural
Resources as Operations Manager and Assistant Park Superintendent to the
designing, construction, and pioneering of trail management techniques.
His experience has led to innovative, low-impact tree felling techniques
and high-angle climbing and rigging. Phil continues working with wood
once it's on the ground; building as a certified carpenter for 20 years. |

Scott has been a great asset to Pavey Tree. The success of our climbers comes in part by our qualified groundcrew. Scott has demonstrated himself in the management of equipment, aerial rescue, understanding the bio-mechanics of how trees stands up and fall down. He has an astute mechanical ability, loves hunting and fishing, and is madly in love with his new bride, Amanda. He has welcomed the idea of climbing and is looking forward to furthering his studies in Arboriculture. |

Ben is a refreshing staff member of Pavey Tree. His knowledge and experience gained by being a student and then as staff at Summit College interested him in the outdoors and the Arboriculture industry. Ben has enjoyed the outdoor pursuits of rock climbing, hiking, and now tree climbing. He has successfully completed the Arboriculture Program at Fleming College and looks forward to his continued learning. He is anticipating getting his ISA certification. He is married to Kathy, and together they enjoy the lifestyle that the Algonquin region provides. We are very proud of his accomplishments at winning the 2009 Ontario Tree Climbing Competition. We wish him all the best as he competes at the 2010 International Climbing Competition in Chicago. |
